Published in 1968 and written by Marvel legend Stan Lee, “The Amazing Spider-Man #56” is a Marvel Superhero unique print of the issue’s cover, hand-signed by John Romita Sr. This issue marks the first appearance of Captain George Stacy, and the conflict double life Peter Parker was living.

Spider-Man first appeared in Marvel comic books in August 1962, in Amazing Fantasy #15 in the Silver Age of Comic Books. Created by Stan Lee, Peter Parker, a shy teenager that gains spider-like abilities after being bitten by a genetically modified spider which he uses to fight his enemies and injustice. Since the initial appearance, Marvel has featured the superhero in several comic book series, the longest being The Amazing Spider-Man, and a series of movies as well.

An instrumental part in the creation of multiple Marvel characters, the late great John Romita Sr. was best known for his realistic, naturalist and fluid art style. American comic book artist, John Romita, is known for his work on Marvel Comics including The Amazing Spider-Man and for co-creating iconic characters including Wolverine, Mary Jane Watson, and Luke Cage. Having heavily influenced the iconic look of Marvel comics we adore today, Romita was later promoted as Marvel’s art director and later inducted in the Will Eisner Comic Book Hall of Fame in 2002 and the Inkwell Awards Joe Sinnott Hall of Fame in 2020.

My last Timex and why.

New edit. Upon further reflection, I’ve only had, a couple of exploratory years with Swatch excepted, Timex watches. My first one was when my mother replaced the Chicita Banana “tickity tock” sticker with a real Timex wind up watch before my first Cub Scout camp. In addition to many other Timex products, I’ve had these Ironman watches for the past 25+years. Usually the band wears out and can’t be replaced after three or four years. This particular watch fell apart less than six weeks old. It wasn’t hit by impact. It just came apart while I was driving down the road. I wonder if they’ve changed their manufacturing process. See photo for details. What is truly infuriating is that rather than replacing it, because it is truly a warranty issue, the told me to ship it to their offshore repair facility (which could take 3-5 months) and pay what might be half the value of the watch. Things happen, but the intentional friction they have created to avoid their obligations borders on malpractice and speaks to their indifference toward customer experience and subsequent lifetime value.
